Granny Does Your Dog Bite?
Another that I finally learned from Steve, although I had had a good time playing along to this tune at Midwest Banjo Camp

I learned this from that wonderful recording by Cathy Fink and Marci Marxer. I had been thinking of recording this, and then there was a Post Yours on the hangout, so I did.
I had not heard this song until I downloaded a version by Douglas Jimerson from emusic. The tune much fun to play, and it also works fine out of G tuning but I like how the fingering works in standard C. And, it's a little better for my voice. This was first published in 1846, words by S. S. Steel, music is anonymous.
I learned this from Steve Staley. I think it's almost compatible.
Well, maybe this is stroke style. I've been thinking of this song since I got Sara Gray's recent CD. It is fun to play.
I had forgotten about this tune until I found it on banjo at Cathy Moore's site. I first heard this played by a Swedish fiddle trio that went by the name "The Three Generations" and who used to play on the Prairie Home Companion in the mid 1970s. I used to play it on dulcimer before I started the banjo, and forgot about it before I got to the point of being able to play such things. Such a good tune.
