Chasing the Banshee
The B part is very much like the B part of Booth Shot Lincoln, but a little different. This is in G, B shot L is in A.

Two times moderate, three times faster. Sometimes it's spelled Stinson. I see on thesession.org that this is in A, but I'm doing it in D. I've added a version in A.
I first heard this on an album by the Troublesome Creek String Band and it, as well as Walk Along John to Kansas was on repeat on my mp3 player. I was reminded of it when clawhammer Mike posted on his blog.
Here is a quick and dirty recording on my old aluminum banjo. I'm using an E-Minor because one of the fiddlers that I play with likes it that way.
I forget where I learned this, but it could have been a Frank Proffitt LP.
Recorded for use in a museum exhibit. I learned this from one of my hammered dulcimer playing friends, who learned it from a book of fifer's tunes.
Recorded for use in a museum exhibit. I was aiming for a small orchestra sound!
Recorded to use with a museum exhibit.
This lovely waltz was composed by Robin Dransfield, I'm not sure when. It was included on Barry Dransfield's 1984 album Bowin' and Scrapin', which is available on itunes I believe. The tune is also currently available on a CD by the group Queen's Gambit on CDbaby. Notation and MIDI are available on thesession.org and on volume 7 of the Lewes Favorite tune list.
Once again, I got caught up in a TOTW. Fun tune.
