Star of Bethlehem
Not a Christmas song! The Fiddler's Companion says that Star is used in the sense of "a notable woman" as in Star of the County Down. The FC also lists this as an AKA of Bonaparte Crossing the Rhine, but to me the two are similar but distinct.
Dull Chisel
A great tune composed by Garry Harrison. I've played along with a several times over the past few years, but last night I played along with Lyle also on banjo. It just got to me, so here is a quick version.
Devil Eat the Groundhog
Sweet Marie
Boating Up the Sandy
I've never quite played this on the banjo because I keep on getting it mixed up with "Home With the Girls in the Morning."
Spring Creek Gal (sort of)
This is my interpretation of Spring Creek Gal. The A part is close, but not the B. So, don't learn this version if you want to play it with other people. Myself; I think I'll keep it because it's relaxing to play.
Oyster Girl
This Bob Walters tune has just about become my favorite.
Indian Squaw
Hmm. Now I forget where I heard this.
Quilting Party, The (or Seeing Nellie Home)
I started in Double-C tuning, and then kept tuning it down until I could more or less sing it. When recording, I had my laptop in front of me with the lyrics!
